After another week on the road it is so good to get back home again. As much as I enjoy my job and being able to travel all over the Southeast there is nothing better than getting home.
This week I was in the great state of Tennessee and was able to visit with my friends Paula and Ken Largin at the Kelgin Knifemakers Co-Op. The Co-Op is located in Sevierville Tn. right next to the Smoky Mountain Knife Works.
Ken is the most prolific living knife maker having ground over 75,000 blades in the past 30 years.....WOW....I wonder how many band-aids that required. Paula has been making knives for 14 years and is a true artist with the blades. I am hoping to have Paula and Ken come down to Alabama to give a demonstration to a group of my friends and the local Boy Scouts, sometime this fall.
I also hope that you enjoy the new creation that Mike and I have put together. It is a stainless steel bowie with a crown elk handle and solid brass guard. The sheath is several layers of leather with real alligator inserted to give a totally unique look.
