My nephew Sam, had asked me to make him a skinning knife with a sheath that he would feel confident using when he went hunting. I got my friend Mike to make the knife, not to long so it would be easy to carry but sturdy enough to give good service. The 5 inch stainless steel blade was perfect with two blood grooves and a cocobola wood handle. The sheath is veg tanned leather 8oz thick with double hand stitching. I used the double saddle stitch because I knew it would get some pretty rough treatment in the woods.
